The Liberia International Airport changed its name for Guanacaste Airport Costa Rica.

It lies about 317 kilometers northwest of the Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose, and works primarily as a liaison to serve the growing number of tourists who come to enjoy the excellent climate and welcoming and sunny beaches of Guanacaste province.

It is located at 30 minutes away from the Peninsula Papagayo area, or other towns in the area such as Playas del Coco and Hermosa, a little farther from places such as Tamarindo beach (80 minute), Flamingo or the Dreams Las Mareas hotel at one hour car driving.
